Denise moved to the Houston, TX area in 1996, soon thereafter joining the Lakeview Quilters Guild. Through the guild, she has collaborated on many projects with other members, including Cynthia England and Susan H. Garman. She has also served on numerous committees and board positions with the guild including two terms as President of the guild and as Quilt Show Chair for 2 very successful shows.

Denise is the CEO (Chief Encouragement Officer) and Owner of HollyDee Quilts. The initial business plan was to earn enough to pay for the Gammill quilting machine. Now Denise can be found teaching at quilt shops, quilt guilds and private retreats. She is also a vendor for regional quilt shows and continues to add her creative touch with her quilting. Her escapades are chronicled at http://hollydeequilts.net and on her very active Facebook page, HollyDee Quilts.

Denise's new quilting studio

Denise and her husband Corey have been a dynamic duo since marrying in 1988. Their family includes a hardworking and handsome son, a beautiful and talented daughter-in-law, and two "perfect" grandchildren.

In 2014 they embarked on building their forever home in the South Central Texas community and wildlife preserve "Settlement at Patriot Ranch". As you can imagine, a very important part of the design of their new home was for Denise's quilting studio. The photo to the left shows the studio framework in progress. Of course, she'll want a great view from her studio! The photo below shows that view. You can see many more photos of the home building process on her HollyDee Quilts blog.
