Seeking Spring in Wells, NV

Last August as we strolled through Vail, CO I received a call from Wells, NV.  For those of you that don’t know this, I was born in NV, just down the road from Wells, NV so when I saw this town pop up on the caller ID I answered.  And to my surprise it was a member of the Humminbolt Quilt Guild asking if I would come teach.  I said that sounded like fun, when were they thinking?  She said February – I said REALLY?  It is cold there then!  She said, yes, it would be very cold and they would be very tired of the cold by then and a quilting class would be just the ticket to “Beat the Winter Time Blues!”  We decided on Total Eclipse for the pattern and in February I found myself headed west on I-80 after flying into SLC, UT.

The members of the Humminbolt Quilt Guild were fabulous and we had a great time!  Here are some photos from the workshop!

What they will be making!
Do I see Kaffe fabrics peaking out?
Pretty little stacks!
Love Love Love that batik!
Got the process down!
The KM units!
Some more KM Units
H spikes – aren’t they pretty?
And the curved sewing begins
This stitcher was not happy with her colors – I LOVED them!
I see spring!
Somebody was very busy!
Look at those Kaffe’s
We had a great facility!
Heading back to SLC – there is snow in those hills! PeQuop Pass was a little scary!

What workshop would you like me to teach in your area?  If you are in the Houston, TX area I will be teaching Total Eclipse with the Coastal Prairie Quilt Guild in April – learn more here.

Stay tuned for more blog posts from this trip!
