Golden Needles Quilt Guild

Last week I gave my trunk show and taught 2 days of classes for the Golden Needles Quilt Guild in Conroe, TX.  This was my 3rd visit to their guild and I am always delighted to visit with them.  I live south of Houston and Conroe is north of Houston.  Houston is a very large city so I make it an overnight event when visiting the Golden Needlers!  This year my hostess was LouAnn and she took very good care of me.

She and her husband had just moved into this home in the spring.  The selling factor for LouAnn was the studio – and I have to agree with her – it is FABULOUS!

The workshop they chose was Cactus Flower Table Runner, normally a 1 day workshop.  I must say by the 2nd day they were off and running on their own.  I helped pull papers so they could do more curved piecing!  I am scheduled to teach this workshop one more time this year at the Baytown Area Quilt Guild, Tuesday, October 7.

By lunch on day one most students had 4 M units done. Here is a compilation from a few of the students.

When we drove up to the venue for the workshop I was a little surprised.

Be sure to stop by the Coastal Prairie Quilt show, Stafford, TX on September 12 &13.  I will have a vendor booth there, but most importantly are all of the beautiful quilts that will be there.

Want me to come visit your guild?  Send me a note.

Now to sew!

Bay Area Quilt Guild – Cactus Flower Table Runner

Last week I had the pleasure of providing a lecture/trunk show for the Bay Area Quilt Guild and the next followed it up with a workshop to make the Cactus Flower Table Runner.  The Bay Area Quilt Guild is located just south of Houston, TX and they are not far from my home.  Many of these members are also members of my guild, Lakeview Quilters Guild – I started out nervous because, well these guys know me!  As I started talking it was so fun to share because we all know so many of the same quilters and the stories are just a little bit more entertaining when that happens!

I thought I would share a few photos from our workshop, which was held at Fabrics Etc on Bay Area Blvd.

We had 4 Debbie’s in our class, so when you see that “Debbie” made a particular block – realize there was more than 1.

I love Debbie's colors.

And this Debbie was so busy taking care of us, ordering our lunch and stuff that she was just tickled to get this much sewing done. She is excited about paper piecing and anxious to work on this project at home

Not the Bermuda Triangle – It’s the Golden Triangle – Quilt Guild!

Last Thursday, Friday and Saturday I was having a blast in Beaumont, TX with the Golden Triangle Quilt Guild.

A double trunk show (they have a morning and an evening meeting) and then 2 days of workshops, a different pattern each day.  If you want to feel right at home, then this is the guild for you!  Visit GTQG website and you will find their amazing show and tell AND if you look a little bit more – you will find VERY CANDID photos from my trunk show!  Thanks PJ (I think!)
