If you are a quilter you know how much fun a “retreat” can be! My friend has a home in Round Top, TX and 5 of us were invited for a wonderful weekend of sewing, eating and shopping. It was the weekend of the Round Top Antique Show – WOW
My friend and I arrived on Thursday early afternoon we unloaded the car, there was plenty of food and all 6 sewing machines to be setup. Then we toured the grounds – they have 12 acres and it is so peaceful. A few bluebonnets were out and several other spring flowers. And then we loaded up the bird feeders – and then we listened and watched the birds fly in. She has a wide variety of feathered friends that come to feed.
That evening we sewed until the wee hours (about 1:00 am) and then finally called it a night. We were again about 7:00 and enjoyed our coffee and the birds again. The rest of our group arrived just in time for lunch, we unloaded their truck and realized we had enough food to sustain us for about 2 weeks! After lunch we hit the road for some shopping and I was overwhelmed – I have only been to this particular antique show 1 other time and it was even bigger and better than I remembered. After a couple of hours some of us headed back to the house to relax and sew.
Over the course of the weekend there was much laughter, much eating and even some stitching. However what I seemed to capture with my camera was the scenery – the sunset and the birds. I hope you too will enjoy!

Gorgeous photos. Would have been difficult leaving such a beautiful setting.
